Joe J. Coley Sr.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Independent Bible Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm officiated by Pastor Joe. J. Coley Jr. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was born on August 06, 1940 in Stanley County, North Carolina. He was a truck driver and employed with Lance for approximately 35 years.

He was survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan Knight Coley; one son, Joe Coley, Jr. and his wife Gay of Childersburg, Al; four daughters, Sherry King and husband Rusty, Angela Mills and husband Steve and Rebecca Furr all of Lancaster, S.C. Also, Dolly Richardson and husband Cameron of Union County, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters, and many nieces and nephews. Surviving are his two brothers, James Coley of Lancaster, S.C. and John Coley of Rock Hill, S.C.; two sisters Betty Matthews of Van Wyck, S.C. and Ruth Coley of Rock Hill, S.C.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Essie Coley, sisters, Annie Mae Coley, Dorothy Coley Satterfield and brothers Jerry Coley, J.C. Coley, and Pastor Jason Coley.
