KATHLEEN S. JORDAN

Kathleen Starnes Jordan 77, of Monroe passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday morning, June 13, 2010 following a year long battle with cancer. She was born June 14, 1932 in Union County N.C., daughter of the late Frances Elizabeth Starnes and was preceded in death by her husband R.L. Jordan Jr. a son Jerry Wayne Laney, three sisters and a brother. Survivors include two sons; Larry Laney and wife Debbie of Lancaster S.C., Bobby Laney and wife Cathy of Waxhaw N.C., three daughters; Lottie Watkins and husband Eddie of Monroe N.C., Linda Laney of Monroe N.C. Joyce Jenkins and husband Rickey (Sweet) of Ruby S.C., twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, one brother; Walter Lee Starnes and wife Dot of Monroe N.C. and her dedicated pet Nipper. Kathleen was a dedicated charter member of Shining Light Baptist Church for more than forty years where services to celebrate her life will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 with her Pastor Rev. Tim Cruse and Rev. Ricky (Sweet) Jenkins officiating, interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank a very special friend, Judy Long, for her loving support during her illness.
