She was born on July 28, 1936, to the late Crawford and Winnie Griffin.
Lenoria was a lifelong Union County native who was currently residing in Monroe. She loved watching western movies, particularly with John Wayne, and her favorite television show was Walker, Texas Ranger. She especially loved her family and enjoyed all the precious memories that were made with them.
Along with her parents, Lenoria is preceded in death by her husband, James Daniel Helms; son, James Warren Helms; and grandson, Paul Franklin. She is survived by her children, Danny Lee Helms, Sr. (Sue), Terresa Franklin (Mark), Anthony Helms (Asa), Karen Atkinson (AJ), and Sherri Musselwhite (Jerry); 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren with 2 great-grandchildren on the way; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, located at 204 South Main Street, Monroe, North Carolina. A funeral service to celebrate Lenoria’s life will be held following the visitation at 12:15 pm in the McEwen Colonial Chapel with Pastor Danny Helms and Pastor Joseph Foster officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe, North Carolina.
