Lura Hinson Starnes

Mrs. Lura Hinson Starnes, 91, died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the Brian Center of Monroe. Mrs. Starnes was born May 29, 1920 in Union County, daughter of the late Julius and Myrtle Laney Hinson, she was also preceded in death by her husband: Hubert Starnes and a brother: Laney Wilson “Pee Wee” Hinson. Lura was retired as a bridal consultant with the J. Howard Williams Company in Monroe. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, from 1:00 until 2:30 P.M. with services to celebrate her life beginning at 3:00 P.M. in the Church Sanctuary with Rev. Lynda Ferguson and Rev. Hank Thompson officiating, interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Survivors include nieces and nephews: Cynthia Hinson and husband Richard Ansite of Monroe, Sue Stevens and husband Jim Carlson of Las Vegas, Jimmy Hinson and wife Gayle of Monroe, Mary Alice Wilson of Waxhaw, Barbara Strickland and husband Bill of Waxhaw, Myra Helms and husband Don of Indian Trail, Ann Howell and husband Mark of Charlotte.
