

She was born on November 30, 1939, in Kershaw, South Carolina to the late Ben and Martha Roberts.
Mamie had many interests and enjoyments in her life including her weekly Friday hair appointments and Sunday lunches with Mrs. Lois’s Sunday School class. More importantly, she loved spending time with her beloved family. Mamie was also a lifetime member of West Monroe Baptist Church.
Along with her parents, Mamie is preceded in death by her first husband, William Acie Helms and second husband, Donald Rummage; and sisters, Lib Amerson and Fannie Fuller. She is survived by her children, Linda Corley, William “Cookie” Helms (Andrea), Keith Rummage (Dawn), and Tammy Rummage Baker (Jeff); grandchildren, Jennifer Corley, Brooke Corley, Shelby Helms, Grayson Helms, Samuel Rummage, Andrew Baker, Madison Zitlalpopoca, and Emily Baker; sisters, Kathy Davis and Sue Watkins; brother, Ben Roberts III; nine great-grandchildren and one expected great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at West Monroe Baptist Church, located at 1212 Icemorlee Street, Monroe, North Carolina. A funeral service to celebrate Mamie’s life will be held following the visitation at 11:00 am with Pastor Eric Nixon officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Lakeland Memorial Park.
