He was born on February 15, 1949, son of the late Margie and Bernice Helms. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Chase Helms; his brothers, Rev. Charles Helms, Jerry Helms and Harvey Helms. He is survived by his sons, Richard Helms (Lisa) and Josh Parrish; his daughter, Rene'e Helms; and by his sisters, Margie Wright and Robbie Dellinger (Ron).
The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 12:00pm Saturday, May 9, 2020 at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Helms will begin at 12:00pm in McEwen Funeral Home's Colonial Chapel.
