He was born October 23, 1950 in Union County, North Carolina, the son of the late Minor and Lorene Neal Parker. Mr. Parker, a Vietnam Veteran, served in the military branch of the Army. After his service to the country, he returned home to begin his career in construction. He continued this career for most of his adult life and was extremely talented in the field. He enjoyed working with wood and was a member of Woodmen of the World, following in his father’s footsteps. Jack was saved at age 11 and was a member of King’s Memorial that his father helped to build. He liked living on his family homestead where he took great pleasure in seeing deer, rabbits, foxes, and wild turkeys. He was a dedicated Carolina Tar Heel fan and enjoyed watching the games with friends and family.
Mr. Parker is survived by his three children, Jackie Parker and Christy Parker, both of Waxhaw and Corbin Parker, of Monroe; grandson, Dalton Knight, of South Carolina; his sister, Frances P. Little of Charlotte; two nieces, Annette Little of Charlotte and Cheryl Maney (Johnny), of Concord and lifelong friend, Danny Watts of Waxhaw.
The family will receive friends and relatives for visitation Monday, June 5, 2023 from 2:00-3:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Home in Monroe. A memorial service will begin at 3:00 pm at the same location.
