Mrs. Odessa "Deck" Rushing

Mrs. Rushing, age 91, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Hospice of Union County. She was born November 14, 1918 in Union County N.C., daughter of the late Jonah J. and Flora Benton Clontz and was preceded in death by her husband, Conley Rushing, grandchildren, Rodney Rushing and David Rushing, siblings, Claude Clontz, Lillian Baucom, William Henry Floyd “Bill” Clontz, Zeno “Johnny” Clontz, Ralph Clontz, Ruth Mills, Boyce Clontz and Estelle Russell.

Visitation will be Friday, May 7, 2010 at Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 1:30 until 2:45 P.M., Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Rushing will follow at 3:00 P.M. in the church sanctuary with Elders Newell Helms, Larry Austin and Jared Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include two sons: Ted M. Rushing and wife Pat of Indian Trail N.C., Tim A. Rushing and wife Trisha of Monroe N.C., two grandchildren, Marc Rushing and Tania Craig, four great grandchildren, one brother, Oren Clontz of Lancaster S.C. and one sister, Loyce Medlin of Albemarle N.C.
