Phillip Charles Springs

He was born on December 22, 1946, to the late Joseph Charles and Hasty Elizabeth Parker Springs. After graduating from Parkwood High School, Phil attended Wingate University where he graduated in 1967 with a degree in Science. Phil then enlisted in the United States Navy where he honorably served his country from 1967 to 1973. He later served in the Air National Guard from 1986 to 1988. Phil loved to read and enjoyed being outdoors. He was an avid UNC Tarheels fan.

Along with his parents, Phil is preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Boatwright of Waxhaw. He is survived by his wife, Denise McDaniel Springs of Wingate; children, Jason Springs (Kimberly) of Charlotte, Monica George of Pinellas Park, Florida, Leigh Springs of Charlotte, and Alex Springs of Wingate; grandchildren, Harrison Springs, Carson Springs, Mariah Blankenship, Preston George, and Nathan Meacham; brother, Ron Springs of Monroe, and sisters, Annette Helms and Trena Sims, both of Monroe.

Services for Phil will be private.
