

A memorial service will be held on December 8, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church, located at 302 E. Windsor Street, Monroe, North Carolina with the Reverend Paul Saleeby officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Lakeland Memorial Park.
Roger was born on November 19, 1946, in Union County, North Carolina, the son of the late E.G. and Helen Holloway Latham. He graduated from Piedmont High School in 1965 and from UNC-Charlotte in 1971, having majored in Economics. He began his forty-two-year career in the commercial hardware business with Eaton Corporation in Monroe and earned the designation of Architectural Hardware Consultant in 1994. As manufacturer’s representative for Corbin Russwin Hardware, he was recognized as National Salesman of the year in 1991, and he received the Dennis Osteen Memorial Award for Technical Merit in 1994. In 1996, he founded Latham Door & Hardware LLC in Monroe. A devoted father and grandfather, Roger was heavily involved in his son’s activities, including several terms as President of the Piedmont Area Soccer Association and years of coaching youth soccer. He enjoyed scouting experiences with his sons, both of whom earned the rank of Eagle. Roger loved the outdoors and was a friend and member of the Wildlife Action Club and the Watershed Group of Pageland, South Carolina. He was a member and ordained deacon of First Presbyterian Church in Monroe, North Carolina.
Along with his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his loving wife, Gail Fowler Latham; and one brother, Johnny Latham (Judy Rushing) of Monroe, North Carolina. He is survived by his two sons, Daniel Latham (Kendall Kiser) and Shawn Latham of Monroe, North Carolina; one brother, David Latham (Manetta Williams) of Matthews, North Carolina; two sisters, Helen Jane (Tom McCaskill) and Lorna Price (Reuben H. “Hank” Price) of Monroe, North Carolina; and three grandchildren, Hudson, Blake, and Kellan Latham, all of Monroe, North Carolina.
