Sarah Lucille "Lucy" Williams Parker

May 12, 1938 - December 8, 2015

Lucy left her earthly home surrounded by her cherished and loving family on Tuesday morning December 8, 2015.

Lucy lived a full and blessed life. She had an active life, and enjoyed gardening, bowling, cooking, and caring for grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love for Jesus Christ was expressed in her love for others. At family celebrations, or whenever a friend was in time of need, Lucy arrived with a fresh homemade coconut cake. Her smile, and sense of humor, made everyone happy. She enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves baseball, and attending her grandchildren’s ballgames.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Parker; Parents, Brady and Lela Rushing Williams; Sisters-Audrey Medlin, Nadine Honeycutt; Brothers- Frazier, Raeford, and Neulan Williams. She is survived by daughter Teresa Hinkel and husband John; Grand-daughters- Lauren Hinkel-Carroll and husband Mike, Morgan Hinkel, Ashley Hinkel; Brother, Ned Williams; Great-Grandchildren- Lucy and Ella Carroll, Parker and Fynn Tolley; and Close Friend, James Smith.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Friday, December 11, 2015 at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe with the funeral service beginning at 2:00pm in the Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
