Susan Rebecca Tarlton (nee Tarlton), 71, affectionately known by all who knew and loved her as “Becky” left her earthly body on Thursday, December 2nd due to complications of Covid. She fought the illness hard for her family, who were her whole world. She went to her eternal rest peacefully.
Becky was the middle child of nine, born to Christine and Vander Tarlton in 1950. She loved her large family and told great stories of growing up with four brothers and four sisters. She caught the eye of the love of her life, Dennis, when she was only 17 and the prettiest brunette at Forest Hills High School. They married in 1968 and spent 53 years together as an embodiment of love and commitment, raising their children and loving beyond measure their seven grandchildren.
Becky was born with a servant’s heart. She was happiest when she was making others happy. She was a hard worker professionally and at home, and she always knew how to make sure you felt special with her love and care. She taught her kids how to work hard and love hard. She was happiest in her flower garden and in the kitchen cooking for her family. You could not get away from the table without a second serving.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Tarlton, and her children Keri Tarlton Bennington and her husband, Andrew, and Jeff Tarlton and his wife, Amanda. She is predeceased by her siblings Keith Tarlton and Anne Starks. She is survived by her brothers and sisters Ruth Eubanks, Frankie Tarlton, Brenda Banter, Layne Tarlton, Gayle Hilton, and Randy Tarlton. Her seven grandchildren who were her pride and joy will miss her immensely: Luke Tarlton, Ava Tarlton, Caroline Bennington, Jack Bennington, Hannah Tarlton, Sadie Tarlton, and Della Tarlton.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. A service to celebrate Becky's life will follow at 2:00 pm and burial will be at Lakeland Memorial Park.
Her family celebrates a life that yielded so much happiness to those who loved her and those she loved.
