Sylvia Shelnut Goss

Sylvia Shelnut Goss, 75, of Matthews, NC passed away on April 1, 2017 with her family by her side. She was a long time resident of the Charlotte area. She was born in Habersham County, GA. Sylvia was the daughter of Vera Shelnut Crout and Boss Shelnut. The love of her life Edward Goss, whom she was married to for 50 years, preceded her in death in 2010 as well as her sister, Rebecca Tomscak in 2014. She is survived by a brother Timothy Shelnut of Pooler, GA, son Stuart Goss from Matthews, daughters Tammy Dixon (husband, Jerry Dixon) of Locust, Vicky Holman (husband, Jeffrey Holman) of Matthews, and Amber Medina (husband Edward Medina) of Ridgway, CO, and grandsons Jacob and Asher Medina.

She spent all her life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, sharing with others God’s plan for the future. Although in poor health, she made her goal in life to be encouraging to others. She also enjoyed spending her time with her children and grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 1:00p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2207 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC. Online condolences may be offered by visiting www.mcewenmonroechapel.com
