Mr. Thomas Richard Starnes Jr., 86, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at White Oak of Waxhaw. Mr. Starnes was born April 7, 1929 in Union County, son of the late Thomas Richard and Verla Montgomery Starnes Sr. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ruth Horne Starnes, a son: Larry Thomas Starnes and his sister: Betty McWhorter.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Starnes will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the McEwen Colonial Chapel, with his son-in-law Reverend Kenneth Crump officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
Survivors include his two daughters: Brenda S. Daniels (Tom) of Monroe, Kathie S. Crump (Kenneth) of Waxhaw, one son: Michael E. Starnes (Valerie) of Stallings, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.
