

Mrs. Campbell was born on March 4th, 1930 in London, Ontario Canada to the late William and Hilda Grace Ellwood. In 1965 Mrs. Campbell and her husband, Glenn, moved to Monroe, North Carolina. Mrs. Campbell was a nurse by trade and retired to raise her children.
Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Glenn Campbell of Monroe. She is survived by son John Campbell of Charlotte and son Paul Campbell, his wife Lori of Norwood and grandchildren Ryan Campbell, Addie Campbell and Mabe Campbell. In addition, Mrs. Campbell is survived by her brother-in-law, Lloyd Campbell of Milford Bay, Ontario and her sister-in-law, Helen Ellwood of Halifax, Nova Scotia and several loving nieces and nephews in Canada.
Mrs. Campbell enjoyed life and especially volunteering with her husband Glenn. Mrs. Campbell and her husband looked forward to competing in the annual Union County Senior Games where they took home many first place ribbons. They were very active in the Union County Meals on Wheels program and Hospice and were privileged to be able to help those less fortunate than themselves. She served many years as part of the Mineral Springs Boy Scouts, Springs Volunteer Fire Department, and Hebron and Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.
Friends may pay their respects and sign the guest book at McEwen Funeral Home 204 South Main Street, Monroe on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 11:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Due to Covid 19, the family will not be present. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Veda Campbell will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, January 21, 2021 in McEwen Funeral Home's Colonial Chapel. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Special thanks goes to the staff of Brookdale Union Park, Brookdale Monroe Square Memory Care and Pruitt Health. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Union County and/or Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.
