William "Bill" Simpson

He was born April 28, 1933 in Union County to the late Spencer and Leona (Medlin) Simpson.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Faye S. Simpson; his son Danny T. Simpson and a daughter Tammie G. Simpson.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynn S. Moore and spouse Wally of Marshville NC; four grandchildren, Stacia S. Wilkerson (Brian) Raleigh NC, Stephanie S. Dorton (Jamie) Weddington NC, William Shelton W. Moore (Joellen) Marshville, NC and Sean D. Moore (Mandy) Knoxville TN; seven great-grandchildren, Caleb, Nicholas, Zane, Max and Mia Dorton and Edyn and Garrett Moore and by one sister, Betty Jo Cassels, Charlotte, NC.

Bill was a graduate of Union High School. He was self-employed for over 35 years as a distributor for White Poultry Company in Rockingham, NC.

He was an avid hunter and also loved playing and watching his grandsons play golf.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of his wife.
