OWENS, Alvin Lee, USAF Ret., 83, a Montgomery resident, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Predeceased in death by two sisters, Virginia Bradley of Tallahassee, FL, and Grace Theus of Ellaville, GA., he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Erma Lucille Owens of Montgomery; a daughter, Sylvia Livingston (John) of Montgomery; a son, Van Owens of Key West, FL; a grand-daughter, Dr. Gena Kenitra Hammac (Ashley) of Pullman, WA; two great-grandchildren, Clara Lucille Hammac and Warren Ashley Hammac, III of Pullman, WA; two sisters, Frances Moon (Herbert) of Americus, GA, and Louise Mulkey (Billy Wood) of Atlanta, GA; a brother, James Owens (Mary) of Charlotte, NC; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012, from 6-8 PM, at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. On Friday, May 25, 2012, Visitation will begin at 12 Noon at Alabama Heritage, followed by a Graveside Service at 3 PM in Alabama Heritage Cemetery, with full Military Honors. Mr. Owens served 30 years in the US Air Force, followed by 18 years with the State of Alabama Forestry Department.
