Barbara Barrett Link

Barbara, a resident of Montgomery, AL, was born in Social Circle, GA and raised in College Park, GA. She received her B.S. in Education from West Georgia College. She met the love of her life, Doug, on a blind date. They were blessed with 63 years of marriage.

In the past, she was very active in her church and enjoyed leading children in Community Bible Study and Sunday school. She also enjoyed making Barnabas bags to give people to encourage them as they were going through trials and tribulations. She also sent encouraging cards and notes to family and friends. She was always thinking of others. Barbara loved to decorate for every holiday and would dress accordingly. She was known for preparing food to match the theme of the occasion. She loved to cook and passed on that love to both of her daughters. She enjoyed meeting people as she traveled with her husband to his forestry events. Even though she battled many health issues over the years, she never complained.

Later in life, when it became difficult for her to walk, it was still very important to her to go to the polls every election and attend church services as she was able. Her greatest joys were raising her two daughters, spending time with her grandchildren, and making a home for her husband, Doug.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Douglass (Doug) Link; children, Valerie Snoderly (Steve), of Montgomery, AL and Victoria Wilson (Glen), of Montgomery, AL; grandchildren, Davis Wilson and Hannah Wilson, of Montgomery, AL; brother, Robert Knight Barrett (Shirley), of Byron, GA; sister, Elizabeth Gertrude (Trudy) Barrett Whittington, of Fayetteville, GA; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Earl Barrett; mother, Louise Knight Barrett; as well as brother in law, Franklin Whittington Jr.

A Visitation for Barbara will be held at Eastwood Presbyterian Church, 1701 E. Trinity Blvd, Montgomery, AL 36106, on Sunday, July 27, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with a Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 PM. A Graveside Service will follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36117.
