91 years young, Dad was first and foremost a follower of Jesus Christ, a loving and devoted husband to our Mother, Barbara, a father to us, David Camp and Steve Camp, a grandfather and great grandfather to a still growing host of beautiful children.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jim Camp; mother, Mamie Camp; brothers, Howard Camp, Henry Camp, Earl Camp and Willard Camp; as well as his best friend; Butch Roberts. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Camp; children, David Camp (Julia) and Steven Camp (Valerie); grandchildren, Zac Camp (Mikaela), Caleb Camp (Amanda), Jacob Camp (Janique), Sara Camp, Rachel Jupiter (Donte), Jubal Camp, Becca Camp, Noah Camp and Ryan Camp; great-grandchildren, Selah Camp, Sofia Camp, Havyn Camp, Silas Camp, Livvy Camp, Jenesis Camp, Beniah Camp, Liam Camp, Ryker Camp and Theodore Jupiter; as well as an extended family.
He proudly served over 33 years in the United States Air Force and retired as Chief, a specialist in Supply & Logistics. As Senior Enlisted Advisor at 12th Air Force, Bergstrom AFB, he served under 3 Star General Hughes and was devoted to the care of NCO's worldwide and to constantly improving the status quo of efficiency in USAF operations under his pervue.
Growing up as "military brats" we never knew who Dad was bringing home to dinner. Especially during the holidays, young airmen who could not make it home to their families would sit at The Chief's table to enjoy a meal lovingly prepared by Mom. As we write this, we KNOW that Dad is feasting at The LORD's table.
While we grieve his loss, we honor and celebrate a life well lived. Truly, his life was a testament that focused of glorifying GOD first, and then in service to his country, his family, and all he came in contact with. We are comforted that we will see him again.
God speed, Chief!
