Conrad D'Arby Naftel, age 57, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021. Conrad was born at Ft. McClellan in Jacksonville, AL on August 7, 1963 to Frances Boutwell Naftel and Lt. COL William Hugh Naftel.
Conrad is survived by his wife, Julie Naftel; daughters Carlee Naftel and Rylee Naftel; brothers Reese (Linda) Naftel and Hugh (Art) Naftel; and sister Phyllis (Wilson) Davis.
Conrad was preceded in death by father Lt. COL William Hugh Naftel and mother Frances Boutwell Naftel.
Raised in Montgomery, Conrad enjoyed hunting, fishing, tennis, the lake, boating, collecting stamps and coins. He will be remembered as one who deeply loved his family, especially his wife, Julie, and his friends. A member of the Society of Pioneers of Montgomery, the Red Elephant Club and Maskers, Conrad was known for a broad and diverse group of friends and acquaintances. Reflective of his giving spirit, he supported many charities.
A Celebration of Life Service is set for Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 10:00 in the Sanctuary of St. James Methodist Church, 9045 Vaughn Rd., Montgomery, AL 36117.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Billy Livings, Tommy Trammell, Manly Swearingen, Leslie Dees, Reese Naftel, Hugh Naftel, Terrell Rose, Gary Wise, Taylor Propst and Speer Kitchens.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in honor of Conrad to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, The Cancer Wellness Foundation or Saint James United Methodist Church.
