

He is proceeded in death by his parents David and Rosa Bray; Alfred McDaniel, Brother, CW4 Richard Bray and Sister, Annette Bray-Jordan. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Daller Parks, his only son David Parks Jr, of Las Vegas, NV. Daughters, Deborah Parks, of Valdosta, GA. Deirdri (SFC (Ret.) Germaine) Williams of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by five brothers. Edward (Mary) Parks, Montgomery, AL, James Bray, Dallas, TX; Joshua Bray, Stone Mountain, GA; Timothy Bray, Pike Rd, AL. Two sisters Climmie (John) Fields, Summerville, SC, and Rosa (David) Bradley, Hinesville, GA. Twelve Grandchildren: Frederick, Tanisha, Brandon, Ambria, Tonni, Mikayla, Jayden, Cameron, Jayla, Tae, Essence, and Ashlyn. One great-grandson Million. Host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
David was born in Mt. Meigs, Alabama on October 14th, 1946. He attended Georgia Washington High School, Mt Meigs, AL. After graduating at the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Army serving his country for 22 years with tours to Vietnam, Korea, and Germany. After his military career, he was employed as a Corrections Officer for Alabama Dept of Corrections, Auto Mechanic and Owner and Operator of PC & G (OTR) Trucking. He was a faithful member of Brookview Church of Christ and Henry Abrams Legion Post 1918 Montgomery, AL. David was an awesome husband, father, brother, uncle, and papa. He had a smile that could brighten anyone’s day and a genuine heart of gold.
A celebration of Life Service will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, November 4th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Bro. Ronald Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Comfort Care hospice nurses and staff, the staff of Baptist Medical Center East, and to Dr. Mark Anderson for his special care.
