David Wayne Turner

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph David Turner and Frances Elizabeth Parham. He is survived by his wife, Mary Elaine Turner; one sister Joyce Taber (Doug); daughters Ginger Henry (Donald), Becky Pouncey (Phil), Jennifer Graziano (Michael); sons Brad Turner, Johnny Payton (Melissa), Greg Payton (Kristi); thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one niece Jamie Taber Ball.

David graduated from the University of Alabama. He served in the United States Air Force as a Pilot, receiving several awards including two Air Medal Awards and the Distinguished Flying Cross Award. He served two tours in Vietnam. David was a successful businessman and well respected Developer throughout the state of Alabama. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time traveling with his wife Elaine, boating, golfing, and flying his airplane.

His kind and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 27th from 10 to 11 am at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following.
