Jeanette was a woman whose life was marked by steady devotion—one expressed in generous care for others, loyal love for her family, and a kind-hearted presence that made people feel welcomed and remembered. Her faith was central and enduring, and she lived it with quiet strength and sincerity.
For more than 40 years, Jeanette was a member of Highland Avenue Baptist Church, where she served as a faithful Sunday school teacher. Her great faith in her Lord shaped the way she gave of herself and the way she walked through life—consistently, thoughtfully, and with deep compassion.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her first husband, Lucious Graves Corley; her second husband, John Herbert Corley; her parents, Mada and Lucious Messick; her siblings, Linnie Mae Price, Martha Kate Sport, Raymond Messick, Parker Messick, Dean Messick and Rayford Messick; and her sister-in-law, Ferry Alford.
She is survived by her children, John Corley Jr. (Marie), Tony Corley (Debbie), Tim Corley, Laura Corley, Nina Trawick (Tony), Joe Corley, Jan Benites and Chris Corley (Jennifer); as well as sixteen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and friend.
