

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home’s Heritage Hall with Reverend Gary Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years John Nathan Boyett; parents, Theodore Roosevelt “Bob” Marsh and Ouida Eudell Smith Marsh; sisters Maxie Jeanette Marsh Overman and Shelby Marsh Godwin; and brothers, Robert Russell Marsh and Harold Loyd Marsh. She is survived by her daughter Felecia Boyett Grove (Tim) of New Virginia, IA; son Darryl John Boyett (Melinda) of Prattville, AL; granddaughter Kristin Grove Woolverton (Ryan), grandson Johnathan Grove (Amanda), granddaughter Heather Grove Duckworth (Dustin); and eight great grandchildren, all of Winterset, Iowa; and brother, Bobby Ray Marsh (Sandra) Ozark, AL.
JoAnn was born in Ozark, Alabama on November 30, 1935, and graduated from Dale County High School in 1954. She was married in 1956 and moved to Montgomery, AL where she lived for 60 years. She was a loving mother to two children who were born in 1957 and 1962.
Among several jobs she worked were with GTE telephone, and in the business office at Alabama Gas Corporation in Prattville, AL.
She was a longtime member of Catoma Baptist Church where she taught GA’s. She loved music, especially Elvis Presley and “All Night” Southern Gospel concerts. She was a loyal Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. She loved to square dance, and was in a bowling league with her husband. She was an avid cook, collecting cookbooks and numerous recipes from magazines. The highlight of her summer vacations was camping with her parents, brothers, sisters and immediate family.
Active pallbearers will be Craig Overman, Marshall Overman, Austin Overman, Ray Marsh, Reggie Marsh and Justin Marsh.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the building fund at Catoma Baptist Church or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
