Larry Starnes

Larry Starnes, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama was born on April 12, 1944 in Concord, North Carolina. He went home to his Heavenly Father, "Keeper of the Stars" on Monday, December 8, 2025 at the age of 81.

Larry recieved a Bachelor of Arts and Master's Degree from Wake Forest University. He proudly served in the United States Army in Military Intelligence and retired after 27 years of service as Lietenant Colonel.

Larry was a wonderful and loving husband, who adored his wife, Linda. He was a true gentleman who loved to travel and make others smile.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Pauline Starnes; aunt Jen Simmons; and his brother, Jerry Starnes. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Linda Starnes; daughter, Kim Holden (Jim); three grandchildren, Kristy Dickey (Shawn), Ashley Cagle, and David Cagle; great-grandchildren, Colton, Mary Madison, and Carson Dickey; and nephews, Jerry and David Starnes.

A memorial service will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, Alabama, 36117, on December 12, 2025, starting at 11:00 am. The burial will be held at Alabama National Cemetery, located at 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, AL 35115, at a later date.
