Lucy Tommie Hamilton

Lucy T. Hamilton (Myrtice Times) was born July 4, 1943 in Buena Vista, Marion County, GA to the late Jasper Times, Sr. and Edith Myrick Times. Lucy was the first born of two children. Her brother, Jasper Times, Jr., preceded her in death. Lucy was educated in the Marion County Public School System. She was a graduate of Wilson’s College of Chicago earning a degree in communications. Her career tenures included the Chicago Police Department and Peoples Gas of Chicago; she worked part-time for Greyhound; she was self-employed as the Director of her assisted living and day care facilities for over 30 years. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. God called his servant home to rest at 1:18AM on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Baptist Medical Center South where she peacefully slept away.

Lucy married the late Thad Tommie. One child was born to this union. She leaves to mourn her death, her daughter, Ajillian-June Tommie of Alpharetta, GA; grandson, SrA Joseph R. Tommie of Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha NE; son-in-law Leon Beecham of Montgomery, AL; sister-in-law, Barbara Jean Times of Columbus, GA; special nieces Fran Mack (Vince) of Springfield, MA, Penny Brown of Columbus, GA, Kim Times of Bloomfield, CT, Scharlita Evans of Bonaire, GA; special cousin “Ma-Ma” Annie Odom of Buena Vista, GA; a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins; sisters adopted in love, Bertha O’Neal of Waycross, GA, Velma Barnes of Lafayette, GA, Mable Myers of Alpharetta, GA, Evangelist Dorothy Norwood of Alpharetta, GA, Evangelist Katie Sankey of Birmingham, AL; children adopted in love, Mickey Green of Duluth, GA, Col. Leslie Dillard of Fort Leonard Wood, MO; special friends Allen Hamilton and Armada Miles both of Montgomery, AL.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Maggie Street Baptist Church, 642 Maggie St., Montgomery, AL 36106 on Saturday, May 21st at 10:00am. A reception will follow at this location.
