Rita Ann Williams Hataway of Montgomery, passed away Thursday, February 10 with her husband and love of her life of 44 years by her side. She was born in Montgomery February 7, 1955 to the late Emanuel and Louise Williams.
Rita held a medical assisting degree from Southern Technical College. A loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed spoiling and spending time with family and friends and was an avid reader. She was deeply loved by all and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband Tommy Lamar Hataway, daughters Sandy Moore (Ara), Christina Burnette (Ricky), Nicole Hataway (DJ), son Brett Hataway (Suzette), grandchildren: Austin Hataway, Jasmine Everett, Courtnay Burnette, Dustin Burnette, Mason Hataway, Seth Rigsby, Adrian Hataway, Gavyn Moore, Madison Moore, Jade Newsome, Dawson Bozeman, Tyler Rameriz, great-grandchildren: Nevaeh Hataway, Serenity Geiss, Sadie Geiss, Drayden Ware, Lyrical Lee’Dior Ware, Rihanna La’Shay Evans, sisters Rachel Mills (Mickey) Rosa Rowland (Chesley Rowland), brothers Randall Williams (Dean),Roger Williams (Rhonda),Robert Williams, many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother Louise Williams, father Emanuel Williams, brothers Raymond Williams, Roland Williams, Ronald Williams, sister-in-law Willa Dean Blackburn Williams, nephew Anthony Paul and niece Dana Williams.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation on Saturday, February 19th beginning at one o'clock in the afternoon with a service to follow beginning at two o'clock all to take place at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. A committal will service take place after the chapel services have ended at Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
