Roy Addison Nutt Jr.

Born in Great Falls, Montana, Roy was the beloved son of Roy Sr. and Betty Nutt. During his childhood, he moved with his family to Montgomery, Alabama, where he played baseball at Huntingdon College and later transferred to Auburn University at Montgomery, earning his degree in finance. After graduation, he dedicated his life to a career as a financial advisor, helping others plan for their future. More than a profession, his work was a calling—he built not only lasting professional relationships but also lifelong friendships with his clients and colleagues.

In 1982, Roy married the love of his life, Bonnie, and together they created a home filled with faith, love, and devotion to family. He will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and generosity. Outside of work, Roy found joy in spending time with his grandchildren, playing golf, and collecting sports memorabilia.

Roy is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his son, Ryan Welch, and daughter-in-law, Gayle Douglas; two cherished grandchildren, Emma and Nicholas; and his brothers, Michael Nutt, Danny Nutt, and Glenn Nutt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Sr. and Betty Nutt.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Roy’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, Alabama 36117, with Graveside Services to follow. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to gather in remembrance.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made in Roy’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
