

Ruth, born on March 12, 1936, went on to attend Autauga County High School where she was a Majorette. She shared her baton twirling skills with her daughters. She retired from Andrew and Dawson Construction Company, where she was the bookkeeper for over 25 years.
Ms. Ruth married Harold Bigelow, whom she met at a church dance held at Burge Memorial Methodist Church on Bell Street in Montgomery, Alabama. They shared a lifelong love of dancing together. Ruth loved gardening, sewing, fishing, and other outdoor activities. She traveled, went on cruises, and shared many adventures with her daughter Lisa well into her seventies.
Ruth attended Evangel Church with her family from 1975 until her health prevented her from attending church services.
For the last few years of Ruth's life, she lived at Brown Nursing Home in Alexander City, Alabama. Her family is so grateful for the loving, compassionate care she received there. Ruth Elizabeth Bigelow is survived by her two sisters, Irene Scott and Peggy Stieringer; her children, Debbie Johnson (Alton), Wendy Farrior (Raleigh), Mark Bigelow (Karen), and Lisa Terry (Roger); grandchildren, Brandon Denson (Amanda), Sherri Campbell (Dallas), Anna Parker, David Johnson (Brandie), Jason Farrior (Leigh), Phillip Farrior (Jennifer), Caleb Champion, Chad Terry (Christy), Mason Terry (April); great-grandchildren, Hannah Mahoney (Skylar), Jordan Denson, Walter Denson, Emma Grace Denson, Tyler Burton, Carson Denson, Maddy Melton, Shiloh Parker, Ava Parker, Charlie Johnson, Ella Farrior, Kylie Farrior, Rowyn Farrior, Killian Farrior, Beau Terry, Julia Terry, Will Woods, Sam Woods, Bryson Terry; and her great-great-grandchild, Skylar Mahoney, Jr; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
Ruth is predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Harold Bigelow; her mother, Mollie Rawlinson (Brad), her father, William C. Robinson (Libby); her mother-in-law, Ethel Bigelow (Fred); her brother, Ed Rawlinson; her sister, Margaret Rawlinson Ewer; nephew, Randall Scott; and niece, Lynn Stieringer.
A celebration of life for Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Bigelow will be held at Evangel Church, on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024; 3975 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, Alabama. Her visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by her celebration of life service at 11:00 AM. A graveside will follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association (act.alz.org) in memory of Ruth Bigelow.
