KRIEGER, Thomas B, USAF Colonel Retired, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellsworth and Catherine Krieger; his sister, Pearl Powers; infant daughter, Wendy Ann; granddaughter, Hadley May; and grandson, Thomas O’Neal Till. He is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah Wise Krieger and daughters, Kathryn Pennington (Lee), Lisa Till (Keith), Leslie Wise Hoffman (Brad), Jessica Wise Graham (Eric), and sister, Ginny Heidloff, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and his beloved dog Buddy.
He served thirty-one years in the United States Air Force during World War II, Korea and Vietnam, He was awarded the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross and numerous other medals and decorations. He received his Ph.D from Florida State University and worked at Troy University in Montgomery School of Nursing as Director of Admissions. In 2004 he received the Montgomery Area Council of Aging Senior Achievement Award.
The funeral will be on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A military burial will follow at the Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Reverend Mark Jackson will be officiating.
He had a passion for missions and serving his community. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mulder Memorial UMC Missions.
