Yvonne Gray

Yvonne Gray, age 79, a longtime resident of Montgomery passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Mobile, AL on Nov. 6, 1931 to Harry Stevens and Esther Viola Clinton Stevens. Yvonne attended Bishop Toolen High School and then began a Civil Service career at Brookley Field. She married Lt. Glyn Gray at Little Flower Catholic Church in Mobile. Yvonne continued her Civil Service career at Maxwell AFB, retiring in 1998 as a Contracting Specialist. Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harry. She is survived by her husband Glyn Gray; brother, Jack Stevens, sisters, Peet Adams, Duddie O’Brien, and Baby Walsh; her children Jacquelyn Stoudenmire, Jamie Gray and Julie Lugar; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit on Vaughn Road with Rev. Monsignor Charles Troncale officiating. Burial will follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011 prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Austin Stoudenmire, Jeremy Stoudenmire, Will Lugar, Billy Lugar, Jay Stoudenmire and Pat Moseley. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Spirit School Building Fund.
