A loving and adoring son, husband, father and grandfather, Bart, often times referred to as "Black Bart" by his closest buddies, was the kind of individual who left a lasting impression. Bart was the owner of M.C. Paint and Body Shop and M.C. Auto Repair. At a young age, he was often found tinkering with bicycles which led to his passion for fixing and building all sorts of things. From small machinery, to vehicles, even to construction, he was a true jack of all trades with a quiet intelligence that led his determination to figure out any puzzle or issue laid before him. He thrived in the face of obstacles and was always willing to work to help others. Bart took pride in his hometown community, doing and giving his all to help his neighbors and fellow parishioners. Known for caring about others before himself, Bart was more than just generous; he was the kind of individual who would freely give the shirt off his own back. He was a true friend who never met a stranger. Bart was also an amazing father, making sure to teach his three girls all that he knew, from hunting, fishing, driving anything with a steering wheel and beyond. The 'yes dad', he was the life of every party especially to his daughters and their close friends. He was the kind of dad every child wished for. Just as wonderful as a father he was, he was an even better grandfather. His one and only grandchild was his absolute best friend. Bart knew how special their bond was because his grandson would let him know every day with the declaration that he "loved his pawpaw too damn much!"
Those left to cherish Bart's beautiful memory are his wife of 26 years, Ann Crockett Koen; his three daughters, Abbie Rose, Cate Margaret, and Anna Claire; his grandson & best friend, Briggs Paul Mabile; his favorite mother, Rose Spinella Koen; two sisters, Jodi Daigle and her husband, Joseph, and Donna Vaughn and her husband, Mark. He was also survived by his mother-in-law, Peggy Crockett; sisters-in-law, Margaret Crockett Prejean and her husband, Joey, and Catherine Crockett; brother-in-law, Jimmy Crockett; a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved deeply, Kayla Rose Brown, Dylan Thomas Bergeron, Blake Ura Bergeron, Brodi Patrick Mire, Virginia Prejean, Brenna LeMaire, Grant Prejean, Sara Crockett, and Jake Prejean; and numerous great nephews.
He is reunited in heaven with his father, Don Ura Koen; his maternal grandparents, Bartel and Marie Rock Spinella; his paternal grandparents, Charles and Laura Koen; and his father-in-law, James Crockett.
