Bertha Guillory

August 28, 1924 – October 9, 2013

Bertha Pearce Guillory, 89, a native of Bayou Chene and a resident of Morgan City passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at her residence while surrounded by her family and friends.

Bertha was survived by her three children, Adlena “Lena” Guillory Landry Mayon, Euna Blakeman; and Edless Buford Guillory; three sisters, Bessie Breaux, Barbara Morrison, and Beatrice Pearce; and two brothers, Arthur “A.J.” Pearce Sr. and Franklin “F.D” Pearce Sr. She was also survived by 12 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Letell Guillory; her daughter, Delores “Dee” Badeaux; one sister, Bernice Ortis; her father and mother and one grandson. Butch Guillory.

Bertha was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Following her husband’s accident, she diligently cared for him as well as maintained her home and family.

The family requested that visitation be observed Friday, October 11, 2013 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Saturday, October 12th at 9:00am until time of services at 11:00am at Hargrave Funeral Home. Bertha will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
