Carolyn Louise Lightsey Kinkle, 64, a longtime resident of Bayou Vista passed away, Thursday, August 2, 2012 while surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, John ‘Johnny’ Kinkle Sr.; one son, John Kinkle Jr. and his wife, Angie; two daughters, Christine Bailey and her husband, Joseph, and Amanda Kinkle and her boyfriend, Pete Thomas; two sisters, Judy Landry and her husband, Terry, Nancy Scully and her husband, Russel; one brother, Roger Lightsey; 10 grandchildren, Nicholas, Sharon, Kerrie, Jason, Christin, Danielle, Bradley, Joshua, Drake, and Joseph; four great grandchildren, Aubrey, Shane, Zachary, and Bryan; her godchildren; her numerous nieces and nephews; and a special thanks to her niece Jennifer K. Gros.
She is preceded in death by her son, Larry Kinkle, whom she missed every single day since he passed; her father, DeWitt Lightsey; her mother, Emily McClendon LIghtsey; her brother, Ronnie Lightsey Sr.; and a sister-in-law, Anita Simoneaux.
Carolyn was known as a kind, loving, and giving individual. Her family describes her as having been a firecracker, a little spitfire in the family. She was a very sociable person, known for talking to any and all of her friends when she was out and about. Carolyn loved being surrounded by her family, especially so she could cook for them; a past time she enjoyed greatly. Carolyn was an adoring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family requests that visitation be observed Sunday, August 5th from 5pm to 8pm at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Visitation will resume Monday, August 6th 9am until time of services at Hargrave Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 11am at Hargrave Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Grace Memorial Cemetery in Plaquemine, Iberville Parish.
