Carolyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was rooted in love, faith, and family. Carolyn was raised in Patterson, where she was one of seven children and a graduate of Patterson High School. She later married Chester, and together they moved to Bayou Vista, where they raised their three children. Carolyn made Bayou Vista her home for more than 60 years before transitioning into assisted living. In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing, crafting beautiful garments and cherished handmade pieces. Carolyn found peace and happiness in gardening, nurturing plants and watching them flourish just as she did the lives around her. Above all, she cherished her family deeply and held an unwavering devotion to Jesus, finding great joy in attending church and faithfully serving as a proud, long-time member of New Life Tabernacle of Morgan City. After her children were grown, she began a career as a clerk with the Louisiana Department of Health, where she worked for 18 years before retiring. Carolyn leaves behind a lasting legacy of faith, love, and devotion that will continue through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Sons Jr.; her son, C.J. Sons III; her parents, Marion and Angie Williams; and her siblings, Merriel Williams, Terry Williams (infant), Roy Williams, and Raymond Williams.
Those left to cherish Carolyn's wonderful memory are her children, Greg Sons (Sherry) of Denham Springs and Angie Hinkamp (Steve) of Kenner; her siblings, Lynn Williams and Doris Whitney (Gerald); five grandchildren, Kristi Sons, Jamie Jackson (Kyle), Amanda Brignac (Andrew), Matthew Hinkamp, and Brian Hinkamp and 11 great grandchildren.
