Donald James Mayon Sr.

He is survived by his 4 children, Donald Mayon, Jr. and wife, Tammy, Kelli Mayon Cagle and husband, James, Lacie Mayon Billiot and husband, Joey, and Nicole Aucoin and fiance’, Devin Pichoff; and 9 granchildren, Dylon, Brazin, Kaleb, Chandler, Haley, Nathan, Grayson, Serenity, and Ellie (coming soon); 7 siblings, Shirley Boudreaux, Betty Duprey, Ray Mayon, Sr., Kirk Mayon, Ella Marie Fryou, Delores Anslum, and Janet Rivet.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Margaret Mayon; and 3 siblings, Floyd Mayon, Jr., Jerry Mayon, and DeeDee Newsome.

He was known as Duck to family and friends. He loved being on his boat, fishing, cooking, woodworking, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed visiting with his morning breakfast club.

His family is thankful of the support and care given by Dr. MaryEllen Allen and staff, Dr. Manthri and staff at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center of Houma, and Heart of Hospice.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers are Ray Mayon, Ray Mayon, Jr., Willy Fryou, Joey Billiot, James Cagle, Randy Mayon, Kirk Mayon, Chandler Stroud, Brazin Stroud, Jerry Mayon, Kaleb Bellanger, Nathan Dominique, and Dylon Mayon.

Visitation will be held from 9 AM until service time at 11 AM on Saturday, November 27 at Hargrave Funeral Home – burial to follow at Morgan City Cemetery.
