Gerald "Jay" Peter Lancon

He leaves his wife of 68 years, Laura Mae Toups Lancon from Patterson, LA. Two children, daughter, Kim Marie Lancon Hoyle of Katy, TX, and son, Burt Jude Lancon (Colleen Munro) of Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Three grandchildren, Christopher Hoyle (Karen), Jon-Michael Hoyle (Elaina) and Steel Munro Lancon and 5 great grandchildren, Rosemarie Jaye, Kennith, Carolynn, William and Abagail Hoyle. Sister in law, Flavia Lancon and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jay was born on October 10, 1930, to Gilbert Joseph Lancon, Sr and Ostina Angeron Lancon in Berwick, LA.

He served proudly four years in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After being discharged he entered the career of newspaper business working at the Morgan City Daily Review, Hearld Coaster in Rosenberg, TX and retiring from the Daily Comet in Thibodaux, LA.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, his mother in law and father in law Nedia and Albra Toups, brothers, Gilbert, Jr and Adrian and sister in laws Gertrude Bernard Lancon and Ruby Toups Russell.

A funeral service will be held July 11, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson, LA at 11:00 a.m. with burial in St. Joseph cemetery.
