Thaddeus E. Cornes
March 24, 1914 – December 14, 2010
Thaddeus E. Cornes, 96, a native of Buckhorn, Texas and a long time resident of Morgan City passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at Teche Regional Medical Center.
Thaddeus was a lease operator for Shell Oil Co. and retired after 33 years with the company; he enjoyed gardening and raised a garden well into his eighties. He believed in exercise and attributed his long life to being active.
He is survived by two sons; Jerry Glynn Cornes of Morgan City and John Robert Cornes and his wife Marilyn of Thibodaux; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Thaddeus is preceded in death by his parents; James Edgar and Elizabeth Neuton Corns; a daughter Wanda Sue Varnam; and three brothers.
A time of reflection and remembrance will be held December 15, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home. A service of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2010.
He will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
