A beloved father, brother, grandfather and son, Virgil was a generous man who always wanted to help others. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, watching any football team on the television, and he especially adored cooking (a skill he loving shared with his children). You could always find Virgil with a cold beer in his hand and his radio turned up playing swamp pop. We can only hope that Virgil knew how loved he was and we will miss him every single day. Yet, there is peace in knowing that he is free of pain and suffering. Most importantly, there is joy in knowing he is finally reunited with his wife, Susie Q.
Those who will forever keep Virgil within their hearts are his sons, Shane Bowen, Dan Bowen; his daughter, Shanna Oubre and their families. He is also survived by his siblings, Wyona Guthrie, Larry Bowen, Laverne Green, and Connie Kasper and their families.
He is proceeded in death by his wife who he loved dearly, Susan Q Bowen and his many siblings, Delores Matlock, Donna Kay Whilebeck, Bonnie Jackson, Wanda Tindell, Iris Jean Tenney, Ronnie Bowen, Kenneth Bowen, and James Bowne.
A private ceremony will be held next Sunday for friends and family
