Bonita ‘Bonnie’ Joan Douglas died peacefully after a brief illness on her 74th birthday. She was born on September 18th, 1938 in Traverse City Michigan. Bonnie was a member of Wolf Lake Baptist Church where she enjoyed her church family. Bonnie was a licensed hairdresser for many years and belonged to an accordion band. She always had a great love for music, especially country, and was also a talented and creative artist. Bonita will be greatly missed by her daughters, Joni Douglas and Judith Tekautz; son, Richard Douglas; grandchildren, Rebecca and Carrie Tekautz, Amber and Jordan Douglas; great-grandchildren, Brianna Douglas, Recarder and Jayden Kitchen; sisters, Dixie Davis, Janet (Bob) Taylor, Katie (Gordon) McPheron; brother, Robert (Marlene) Fitzgerald; several nieces and nephews; and her close friends of Friday Night Game Night. Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, Richard Fitzgerald and mother, Anna Gould; sister, Pat Enders and brother, Jerry Fitzgerald. At Bonnie’s request there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at Wolf Lake Baptist Church, 1070 S. Wolf Lake Rd., on Friday, September 21st, 2012 at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family.
