Carla Varee Hoffmeyer

Carla Varee Hoffmeyer, 70, passed away on February 27, 2025, in Muskegon, Michigan. Born on February 17, 1955, Carla was known for her deep love and commitment to family, which remained her greatest joy throughout her life.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of over 54 years, Gary L. Hoffmeyer, and was a cherished mother to Tracy (Kurt) Lemke, Michelle (Tim) McCauley, and Gary E. (Sondra) Hoffmeyer. Carla was also a devoted grandmother to Kara Green, Krystal (Andew) Judson, Katrina Smith, TJ (Jazmin) Smith, Travis Smith, Tess Lemke (Cody Crites), Garrett Hoffmeyer, and Wyatt Hoffmeyer. Her great-grandchildren Kyra, CJ, Adycen, Stiles, Zayden, Mavis, Ava, and Colton brought her immense happiness. She is also survived by her brother, Mike (Jacalyn) Mudge; brother-in-law, Dave VandenBosch; sister-in-law, Bonnie Mudge; and stepfather, Ivan Houghton, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents, Alice Houghton and Ellsworth Cash Mudge; Siblings, Cheri Mudge VandenBosch and Rock Mudge; and her daughter Kristy Hoffmeyer,

Professionally, Carla was associated with Howmet Aerospace, where she dedicated many years of service. Her work was an important part of her life, contributing to her sense of purpose and community.

A service to celebrate Carla's life will be held on Wednesday, March 5th, at Everest Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Aaron Gregory. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 PM, followed by the funeral at 1:00 PM. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at Connection Point Church, located at 2270 S Mill Iron Rd.

Carla's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and community, leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories with all who knew her.
