Carter (Sam) Long, age 81, died Monday, September 16, 2019 in Muskegon Township. He was born on September 21, 1937 in Muskegon to the late Carter and Frances Long. Sam was a member of the Muskegon Eagle Lodge #668 and the Muskegon Conservation Club. He was employed over the years as a truck driver for Pacer, Cannon of Muskegon and Uganski. On May 18, 1957 he married Pat and she survives along with two sons Troy (Gail) and Todd (Linda), one sister, Pat, three grandchildren Nick, Erica and Hunter, two great grandchildren and two sister in laws Gerri and Elaine. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Debbie Long and two sisters Sandy and Linda. There will be a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place at a later date at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. There will be a luncheon directly following the service at the Eagles Lodge #668 on the corner of Western Ave. and 7th St. Muskegon.
