Cesar Hector Villanueva

Cesar was born on December 22, 1938 to his parents, Maria N. and Francisco Villanueva in Muskegon, Michigan, where he lived most of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, where he served active duty from 1956 to 1960. He participated in the Manhattan Project, the testing of nuclear bombs in the Nevada Desert. Cesar enjoyed travelling and was a hard worker. He never liked to sit at home. He loved collecting driftwood from the beach and making things with it. He was very kind and had a deep love for his family.

He met and married before God, Sandra L. Taylor Villanueva, who preceded him in death, along with his son, Cesar H. Villanueva Jr.; a granddaughter, Alexas Fenton; a great grandson, Fernando Aburto; and his parents.

He is survived by his children, Sonya L. Villanueva of New Paris, PA, Richard F. Villanueva of Muskegon, Starr (Bruce) L. Villanueva-Averitt of Clifton, VA, and Vanessa J.N. Villanueva; his grandchildren, Holly (Jay) Imler, Amber (Alexi) Espiñal, Jacob Foor, Vanessa Foor (Edgar Martinez Sanchez), and David B Averitt; his great grandchildren, Taylor , Malon , Giovanni, Janessa), Jonathon, Araceli, and Edgar Jr.; his siblings, Clara Patricio, Susan Pitcl, Cay (Ted) Aguliar, Carol (Rolando) Garcia, Yolanda Martinez, Victor Villanueva, Ron (Ellen) Villanueva, Geno (Marcia) Villanueva, Ruben Villanueva, Tim (Mary) Villanueva, Julian (Patricia) Villanueva, Virgil, Rocky, Ben, Christopher and Christina Villanueva; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and great nieces and nephews, who will miss him greatly.

A service for Cesar will be on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11am at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel; 1783 E. Keating Ave. in Muskegon. Officiating will be Deacon Dave Kasprzyk. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at 10am. Interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 1:30pm. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
