

Daniel proudly served his country in The United States Army. He joined the Army in March of 1945 - He was a WWII veteran. He was a German interpreter and front line truck driver, bringing gasoline and supplies to the troops on the front line. He worked for many years as a Millwright for Brunswick of Muskegon. He married his love, Alma Anna Compton, on October 8, 1954 and the couple spent 62 wonderful years together – until her passing in 2016. Daniel liked fishing, hunting, bowling, woodworking, and square dancing. He enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states, Canada, and Nova Scotia. He was a dedicated member of Immanuel Lutheran Church – now Grace Harvest Church. He was a past Post Commander for VFW Post 7729, a member of the Cooties Organization, and a member of the Muskegon County Honor Guard. Daniel will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Daniel was preceded in death by: wife, Alma Young; son, Charles William Mosley; grandchild, Ray Martin Weaver; parents, Lonny and Evelyn Young; and siblings, SC Young, Juanita Mayton, and Roma Partin.
Daniel is survived by: children, Donald (Mickey) Mosley, Karen (Gary) Witt, and Janet (Denny) Dagen; grandchildren, Butch Lathrop, Becky Meuvil, Randy Lathrop, Diane Mosley, Randy Mosley, Brent Mosley, Lisa Rosenthal, Daniel Weaver, Beth Miron, Kim Aue, Dennis Dagen Jr., Sandy Bakos, and James Dagen; several great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Geraldine Mosley; special niece and nephew, Bruce Partin and Janette Mayton; and many other nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 11:00am at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442. A visitation will be one hour prior to the start of the service, also at the funeral home. Interment, with military honors, will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, 2188 Remembrance Dr. Muskegon, MI 49442, following the service. A luncheon will be held at The VFW Post 7729 following the burial.
