David was a Corpsman in the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. After his time in the Navy, he joined the United States Coast Guard. After his time in the service he worked as a medical technician for several years. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, watching Jeopardy and baseball, and spending time with his family. David loved having the whole family together for holidays and family events. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
David was preceded in death by: parents, John and Becky Ferrell; and brothers, Chris Ferrell, and Ron Ferrell.
David is survived by: wife of 49 years, Kathryn Ferrell; children, Gaylon (Lisa) Houtsma, Samuel (Liz) Ferrell, Wesley Ferrell, David (Nicole) Ferrell Jr., and Russell (Luanne) Ferrell; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and sister, Luanne (Russ) Brown.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date, to be announced.
