Delores "Dode" McLaughlin, age 80 of Muskegon, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016. Dode worked as a waitress at Pontaluna for 25 years. She later went on to open her own restaurant, Dode's Place in Wolf Lake. In her spare time, Dode served as the President of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Women's Auxiliary. In her later years, Dode also worked at Aunt Mary's Yarns and Crafts, Etterman's, and Ottawa County Head Start. Dode was preceded in death by her husband Wesley, parents James and Angeline Prow Reed, and son-in-law Erving Atkinson. She is survived by her children: Robert (Linda) McLaughlin, Debra Atkinson, Lynel (Charles) McLaughlin-Doom, Lori (James) McKinstry; 10 grandchildren; Many great-grandchildren; Sister Alice (Job) Teuling; Brother Roger (Marva) Prow. Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel at 2:00pm. The family will greet visitors an hour prior to services.
