

Georgia was a graduate of Muskegon Heights High School and went on to marry the love of her life, Gerard Hayes, in 1954. Together they raised 7 children and built a life of love and laughter. Georgia was a member of River of Life Church for over 15 years. In her free time, she enjoyed camping at the river, reading, watching old westerns, coordinating her socks with her outfits, and watching the Detroit Tigers. Most of all, she cherished her family and loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Georgia was a loving and caring woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Georgia was preceded in death by: daughter, Lolly Machinski; siblings, Mert, Lila, Dawn, Darlene, and Chuck; and parents, Merle and Hazel Goodrich.
Georgia is lovingly survived by: husband of 71 years, Gerard Hayes; children, Kathy (Joe) Schultz, Jerry (Tami) Hayes, Tim (Lori) Hayes, Ken (Teresa) Hayes, Bob (Sheila) Hayes, and Lynda (Pat) Firestone; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Gene Goodrich; and son-in-law, Phil Machinski.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 28th, 2026 at 1:00pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel of Muskegon. The family will welcome guests one hour prior to the start of the service. Georgia will be laid to rest at Laketon Cemetery in North Muskegon.
