Harland W. Hansen, age 84, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014 after a short illness. Harland was born in Muskegon on February 13, 1930 to parents George and Nora (Andersen) Hansen. He worked as an engineer and retired from Shaw Walker/Knoll after 40 years. Harland enjoyed listening to classical music and building and flying model airplanes. He attended Calvary Church. Harland will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Joyce; daughters: Karla Hansen, Laura (Jeff) Sanderson, Donna Hansen; grandchildren: Erick, Jacob, Anna; brother, Leonard Hansen. He was preceded in death by both parents, and siblings: Florence, Eleanor, Robert, Palmer, Evelyn, and Laurin. A memorial service will take place at 3:30pm on Thursday, July 3, 2014. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Olivet Evangelical Church in Harland’s name.
