

Kenneth LeRoy Torrenga, 87, of Muskegon passed away peacefully with family by his side on October 4, 2025 at the Harbor Hospice Poppen House. Ken was born on August 31, 1938 to Richard and Julia Torrenga in Muskegon.
Ken proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959. He married the love of his life, Patricia, on July 24, 1965, and the couple enjoyed 57 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2022. Ken worked for many years in maintenance and custodial for Muskegon Community College until his retirement in 2000. In his free time, he loved to go camping, bowling, play card games, painting, and woodworking. Ken also loved sports, he was an avid fan of the Muskegon Big Reds. However, Ken loved sports the most when he was able to watch his grandchildren play. He was a devoted husband, loving dad, and wonderful grandfather. His love for his family will live on in all those he held dear for years to come.
Ken was preceded in death by: wife, Patricia Torrenga; son, David Torrenga; daughter-in-law, Kathy Jo Torrenga; great grandson, Kowen; parents, Richard and Julia Torrenga; brothers, Donald, Richard, Harold, Melvin, and Bobby; sister, Evelyn; and his dog, Molly.
Ken is survived by: son, Scott (Lisa) Torrenga; grandchildren, Kendra (Jake) Torrenga, Matthew (Hannah) Torrenga, and Alex (Bailey) Torrenga; great-grandchildren, Cali-Ann, Dax, and Cash; sisters-in-law, Margo (Frank) Musk, and Lois (Carl) Hess; as well as, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and close friends.
A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442. The family will welcome guest one hour prior to the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Harbor Hospice.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff at Christian Care and Harbor Hospice for the care and compassion they gave to Ken in his final stages of life.
