

Louise Ann West, 77, of Muskegon, MI, passed away on December 7, 2019.
Louise was born in Grand Rapids, MI to Evelyn and Harold Dogger on January 16, 1942. The family eventually moved to Muskegon, MI, and she graduated from Muskegon Heights High School. She married David Galen West on November 12, 1960 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Muskegon, MI. She was a homemaker but also worked at Sally Jon’s Bakery and Ryke’s Bakery. Louise loved her family but also loved shopping, bowling, and Elvis! While living at Christian Care Assisted Living Center, Louise was a leader, loved the people who lived there, and knew all their names. She was always full of energy and participated in most activities, like the walking club, bingo, bowling, holiday crafts, and monthly field trips to local restaurants.
Louise is preceded in death by her husband, David Galen West, twin sister, Mary Dogger, and older sister, Sally Earsley, her parents, Evelyn, and Harold Dogger, her brothers-in-law, Ralph Earsley and Tony Prior, and nephew, Fred Prior.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Sue Ann (Ted) Jawor, and son, David Allen (Sue) West, her sister, Barbara Prior, niece, Beverly (Gary) Shoemaker, nephew, Brian (Tammy) Earsley, grandchildren, Mark Barnes, Andrew Law, Heather West, Jordan (Paige) Phillippo, Brent Phillippo, and Noah Anthony, and great-grandchildren, Mailee Barnes, Alaina Phillippo, Charlie Phillippo, and Finley Phillippo.
Louise deeply loved cats, especially Siamese cats, and her dearly departed, Melody.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 12th from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home, 1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 12th from 1:00pm-2:00pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home, 1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, 2188 Remembrance Dr., Muskegon, MI 49442. Arrangements are by Ever Rest Funeral Home.
The family of Louise West wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Christian Care Assisted Living Center, Dr. Erin Pettijohn, Dr. Alan Waters, Deacon Dave Kasprzyk of St. Thomas & Sacred Heart Catholic Churches, Ms. Renee Wright of Senior Resources, Father Bart Okagbue and the staff in the ICU at Mercy Hospital, and the staff at Johnson Cancer Center and Cancer & Hematology Center of West Michigan.
